Over 100 of exhibitors (10 foreign in between), 350 stalls, 8000 m2 of exhibition surface – that the score of all those years of Geodesy and Geoinformatics Fair. In the whole history of the performance has given away 10 statuettes GEA for the best geoinformatic product of the year. The last one, that means the 10-th statuette has received the monthly GEODETA, which will celebrate their own 10-th years soon.

Since the first edition in 1995, when has been exposed only six corporations, the today's trades has changed very much so. The exposition became strict from geodetic to geoinformatic part. On the beginning the trades were related only to Katowice but year after year it has started circulate around the country ( Toruń , Wrocław , Warszawa, Kraków). Lots of new stuff has been added to the exhibition like the conferences, trainings, workshops. Everything has changed – VIPs names, visitors and We can notes the how is processing the technology by looking at the modern products. For the geodesists it is a great moment to make a comparison of the different products on today market – Leica, Nikon, Pentex, Sokkia, Topcon, Trimble. We also had the possibility to try presented instruments, check the functionality of mobile GPS receiver or turn on the total station. Direct contact of the client with the distribute is a great advantage of the Fair. It is possible to present the engineering problems without daily hasten appearing during work in the field and get the professional assistance on the place.
Geoinformatic part of the exhibition: geodetic programs CAD and GIS (Algores-Soft, BricsCAD, CAD Consult, ECOGIS, Geosystems Polska), and also (ECOGIS, Geosystems Polska, OPGK Kraków, PGI Infogeo, PGK Vertical, PPWK Inwestycje). We could see german companies - Technet GmbH and Vestra. So it look like our market has started to be interesting to our European neighbors.
Every year we can notes the companies that are dealing with the photogrammetry and teledection (Dephos, Eurosense, PGI Compass, PPWK Inwestycje) and also the aerial laser scanning (Eurosystem). The exhibitors in Kraków has been presented the whole systems that analize the aerial and ground photos. The huge excitement has made the modern methods of the visualization and graphical presentation of the photogrammetric measurements results. Also the conference topic has been related to the visual geoinformatics – We could hear about: aerial laser scanning LIDAR and it's practical use, digital cameras LEICA, Geosystems and Vexcel Imaging, and at last the methods of teledetection control the parcel surface for requirements of IACS. The distributors of the hardware and the materials for superprecise scanning, backups and printing has not disappointment us this year. The wide spread shits machines and operating materials has occupied sizable surface (Artech, Epcot Polska, Océ-Poland, Ricoh Polska). We can see the real expansion of the modern solutions like the integrated scanning and printing systems or wide spread shit format copiers. It's getting very loud about the newest technology of the gel-printing, that will exceed ink-printing by the quality and by the duration – the laser-printing. During the printing and scanning expositions we could see the real quality and efficiency of the products of individual companies.
Two institutions has represented the administration: The Head Office for Land-Survey and Cartography (GUGIK) and the Office of Malopolskie Voivodeship (WODGiK). GUGiK like every year has appeared with the Atlas Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, thematic maps and digital cartographic products (BDO, VMap Level 2, TBD). The Malopolski System of Spatial Information has been talk over on the conference and on the stall as well. Krystian Pyka - the geodesist of Malopolska has assured that it is possible to find the MSIP in the internet, where on the “Wrota Malopolski” portal has been placed the module of MAP-GIS-GPS, which is offering several levels of functionality – from information – cognitive to interactive cartographic publication.
The single presence of the college has grieved the organizers. Katedra Geodezji Szczegolowej Uniwersytetu Warminsko-Mazurskiego in Olsztyn, who is the frequent visitor on GEA Fair has been promote their own technology of reproducible set-up of structure by GPS methods, education software from the range of geodesy and courses and post-graduate studies. The employee of UWM has been announced the publication of the script “Wybrane zagadnienia z rysunku map”, where We will find besides the map classification and the methods of creating the modern digital maps, the enclosure with AutoCAD and C-Geo instructions.
Among the serious bussines conversations and meetings, were the recreation moments too. In the competition of the publisher GEODETA it was possible to draw the touristic GPS receiver Garmin eTrex Vista. All You had to do it was to fill-up the questionnaire by answering on the questions. (the results on 70 page). Adam Dembski from Belchatow has became a winner of the competition. The tradition of GEA Fair is an award – GEA statuette for the best product of the year. We proudly inform that our publisher has received this year award. Jacek Smutkiewicz, the organizer has said that has honored the product, which is not every year on the market, but every month for almost past 10 years. The award of the Main Geodesist of the Country has received the representative of Katedra Geodezji Szczegolowej in Olsztyn. The Fair Jubilee made an opprtunity to distinguish 5 companies, that are participate the Fair from the begining - Czerski Trade Polska, IG T. Nadowski, Impexgeo, TPI and GEODETA).
The program of the International GEA Fair it's not only the exhibition, but the training and conference also. This time it was the seminars that has entitled: “The technology and the market of the visual geoinformatics”, “Małopolski System of the Spatial Information”, the training: “The exploitation of the total stations GPS working in ASG-Pl network for assignment of the point localization”, “Marketing in the service company, standards of marketing service of client in the places that are concentrated on the geomatic database” has gathered about 200 visitors, who participated on the three days sessions.
What was possible to see on GEA Fair. The company Czerski Trade Polska has promoted the newest product of LEICA – system 1200. Except the tachymeters and GPS receivers of this series We could see the tachymeteres TCR 407 and the precise hardware for industrial measurements – LEICA TPS 5000 also. We are all waiting for announced SR20 receiver with the function of precise geodetic measurements on our market. IG T. Nadowski company has exposed the newest code level – LEICA Sprinter, which will be on sale in two accuracy versions (1,5 and 2 mm ). The price should not get over the 4000 zlotych and it has to fill up the niche between the quite expensive ones and the traditional ones. The premier level AL32G has won the one of the visitor – mrs Justyna Przeniosło from Radziszów. On the shared stall by the companies: Impexgeo, Geoline and Geotronics (Trimble, Nikon) has presented the one of the newest GPS receiver - Trimble R8. The big interest has created the motored tachymeter Trimble 5503 DR Standard and among Nikon instruments We could find the model NPL-352 with the unique system reflectorless measurements. TPI (Topcon) company has advertised the newest and their own products – photogrammetric system PI-3000 and tachymeters from series GTS-720 based on the Windows platform and polish language internal software TopSURV. On the fair promotion We could buy the tachymeters or GPS receivers and got insurance of the equipment for free. The representatives of Geopryzmat – the distributors of Pentax equipment, besides the sales talk about the reflectorless tachymeters R-300 advantages, has been presented Pythagoras software – CAD application with the integrated calculation and graphical functions. We could buy PROFILE LEVEL for only 599 zł netto on the promotion. COGiK (Sokkia) has exposed the most popular in their offer – reflectorless tachymeters SET x30R and the integrated GPS Radian IS system INS company, distributor of french Thales has presented the wireless GPS Z-MAX with the capability of adding the radiomodem or modem GSM to it. Also We could see the manual GPS- GIS instrument – Mobille Mapper. Algores-Soft has offered two applications: Geonet – the package of calculating programs and Geonet_unitrans – convert the coordinate system in between all the layout systems in Poland.
There was a possibility to buy the professional AutoCAD software on the CAD consult stall, which has been presented Hewlett-Packard. equipment too. Also We could find there the software – WiseImage Pro Geo, that can convert scanned maps, schemes, plans and get the results from raster materials. The visiting-card of Cracow and Compass company was the orthophotomap of their city and the regions, which was made of aerial photos in the 1:26000 scale. They have also showed the digital fundamental map of Pieniński Park Narodowy ( 5000 ha ). The digital photogrammetric station for PC with lots of interesting functions (Fli-Map - scanning measurements from helicopter, antique and industrial objects stock-taking, digital photogrammetry) has presented the company – Dephos. The distributor of Vexcel – ECOGIS – has exposed the aerial photo scanner UltraCamD, there was also the occasion to look at the package of INPHO software for digital photogrammetry and how it works. Eurosense from Nadarzyn has offered the services related to the aerial photography, photointer-pretation, processing the satellite photos, gathering the data to GIS and help with the cities and landscape planning. This company is trying to introduce one of the most modern measuring technology LIDAR on polish market. On the stall We could get familiar to this method and the tools for point filtr and testing their quality later on. AutoMap is a product that has been presented by their author – Geosystems Polska. It already includes 8 detailed city plans and the surface of Górny Śląsk and Trójmiasto. AutoMap on the beginning of the next year is supposed to make an expansion on other European countries.
OPGK Kraków, besides the advertise the package of geoinformatic services, has showed their newest product – Cracow map that include the planning investments for next 20 years. PGI infogeo is selling Mapa_SG 2000 software, which is helpful in the processing and edition of the digital map. In PPWK Inwestycje offer, next to electronic version of auto-map We could find the unique system of winning of navigation data and the road evidence data – MMS (Mobile Map System). The car with 6 cameras that can register the route of drive and with the hardware that record the position, has evolved a big impression on the visitors. The software that has been offered by two german companies: Technet – it has proposed the special solutions for polygon alignment, calculation converting, planning the infrastructure (used by german railway DB AG) and Vestra, that offered the tool that is cooperating with AutoCAD. But software dgDialog for the geodetic documentation offices, that is already in use at 6-th Silesian cities has been advertised by the company from Żory – Vertical. The plloters, copiers, scanners (Xerox, Seiko, Roland, Seal, Nagano) has been offered by the distributor of Epcot Polska. TCS400 system was the main point of Océ-Poland presentation. Integrated with TCS400 controller Océ Power Logic is allowing to manage the of the copying, scanning and printing the wide spread shit format documents, the color ones and black and white. The service activity of many rollers makes the capability of the print on different carriers. Ricoh has been shown the multifunctional a machine Aficio 2238C , that has the printer, scanner, copier and the fax in one. The interesting detail has exposed the HIG company from Hanower – the geodetic car equipment. Besides the modules that ready to install They are making products for individual wishes also. The company OOF has offered the possibilities of taking or the equipment, or a car or the office facilities to leasing.
