The prezentation of geodetic hardware and software, equipment and polygraph materials, maps and other products like: trainings, reports and two statuettes GEA – thats how We can describe and abstract in one sentence the last course of IX International Fair GEA 2003 (9-11 october). This performance for the first time has proceeded in Warsow. The localization and prestige of this city had to encourage for numerous participation the exhibitors and visitors. And We were right about exhibitors but unfortunately not too many people has showed.
On the invitation of organizer Jacek Smutkiewicz, the official opening performed geodesist of Mazovian province Krzysztof Mączewski i Łucja Knoll z GUGiK. The Hall of Warsow Center EXPO XXI has attracted 46 exhibitors, which We can divide on main three groups: distributors of measuring equipment, software (programming), scanners and similar. There were also firms that were offering services of geoinformations and representatives of administrations and world science. We found a lot of foreign visitors which by the promoting their offer business wanted to gain over polish clients. The conferences and trainings which were accompanied the performance were about GIS and about adaptation of new-set ASG-PL. Like every year during the Fair concede statuettes GEA for fairest geodetic product of the year. This time two polish geoinformation firms became honour: Geosystems Polska for Auto-Map and Systherm Info for GEO-INFO V, whose premiere was an event of Fair (see the frame on the next page). Distributing of awards has proceeded during the solemn supper. The one of the interesting detail of the performance was an exhibition of photo from student expedition on Spitsbergen. As usually the most impressive stalls had the firms that were engaged in the sale of geodetic equipment. Czerski Trade Polska Sp. z o.o. (representative of firm Leica Geosystems AG) has presented between others: tachymeters TC407, TCR705, and also levels, manual and laser distance measurers DISTO and GS20 PDM – local receiver GPS and recorder in one. Of course could not reject laser scanner Cyrax 2500. Impexgeo from Nieporęt (general distributor of equipment of geodetic firm Trimble i Nikon) has stand on the same stall with the authorized dealers (Geoline s.c. from Ruda Śląskia and Geotronicsem from Cracow). Among offered equipment we could find Total Stations Nikon NPL 352 and the most intresting among the visitors Total Station – Trimble 5503 DR Standard with alphanumeric keyboard Geodimeter CU and Trimble 5603 with the ACU-keyboard and the function of tracking. Also it was possible to take a look at the revolutionary integrated GPS Trimble 5800 receiver with the wireless communication Bluetooth, and the whole series of a Levels (DiNi 12, LaserLevel 1444 i QL-40 Spectra Precision). But the most popular among the visitors was laser scanner Callidus.
TPI Sp. z o.o. from Warsow (the distributor of japanese products - Topcon) has presented in between others a new dual-frequency GPS antenna - PGA-1, reflectorless Total Stations 600 and 220, diodes instead of prism poles and laser plummet, Levels (laser DL 101C) and other small geodetic equipment. COGiK Sp. z o.o. (the exclusive represetative of Sokkia firm) has exposed 12-channeled receiver to make a measurements in mode RTK: GPS GSR2600 and GPS L1/L2 Integrated System. For "traditionalists” we could find new reflectorless Total Stations - SET x30R. However the exclusive distributor of Pentaksa, Geopryzmat from Raszyn, except the Total Stations and Levels, on his stall had the detectors that can locate underground cables, measuring accessories (e.g. prism poles, prisms, leveling staves).
Near the most known GPS systems has appeared canadian receivers of POINT Inc. offered by GPS-PL s.c. from Cracow. German firm Nedo-Nestle & Fischer GmbH & Co. KG has showed full scale of the gedetic equipment. In their offer were: laser level - Nedo-Primus, which owing to his remote control that it can be use to single measurements, the smallest on the world rotate laser Nedo-Benjamin, which was made for requirements of modernizations of interiors, and also tripods, manual laser distance measurers, prism poles, prisms etc. It has not run out also the detectors of underground installation. The firm GEO-SERWIS from Gdańsk has encouraged to buy the detecor - WIP-1 and the newest product – magnometer WIP-MAG.Many of the geodesists get used to buying of expensive geodetic equipment and cars taking on leasing. This special offer for our sector has presented the firm OOF (Ośrodek Obsługi Firm) that is activ on the geodetic market for past four years. The separated group of exibitors was made of the firms which sells the databases, services and the geoinformation products. Geosystems Polska Sp. z o.o., next to – the navigation AutoMap of Poland, has presented the novelty – the software (programming) for objects classification eCognition by DEFINIENS. The geodesists of young native firms Dephos, laureate of award GEA 2002, were standing next to the digital station and they were explaining the possibilities and compliance of System of Digital Photogrametry DEPHOS. This software is working on the Windows platform and is usefull in creation of digital models of the fields, can be used in the ground photogrametry, ortorectification, support in carting the topographics maps. The software - INPHO, made the complite solutions in the photogrametry ( modules OrthoVistaa and MATCH-AT). Thats the offer by ECOGIS from Warsow the firm which is also managing the service for those programms. Invited on their stall - Mr Vexcel has arrived with his the newest product - the scanner of aerial photos - UltraScan 5000. The other exhibitions were more or less interesting but it was worth to look up to the Simmons Aerofilms's stall from Great Britain. They are specilazed in taking of photogrametrical photos and maps digitalization.
This year on the Fair we could see that the predominated role had preform the creators of programmings and distrybutors of those, in particular the GIS-application. There were also other products like: ArcInfo, ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcExplorer etc. The visitors could get familiar with the Miner & Miner's products based on ArcInfo 8 (ArcFM, ArcFM Viewer, Designer, Conduit Manager, Responder, Network Adapter). On the stall of Man and Machine Software Sp. z o.o., CAD Consult Pracownia Komputerowa and Aplikom 2001 – anyone who was interested in the newest version of AutoCAD 2002 PL and the full software for the geodesists and the authors of GIS (Autodesk Map 2004, Autodesk Raster Design, Autodesk Land Desktop, Autodesk MapGuide, Autodesk Envision, Autodesk GIS Design Center), and others solutions of support of modeling the field, hydrology, geodesy and spatial information, for the advanced edition of raster documentation. The firm-Inter-Design Tessel Systems has presented the raster-vector editor SuperEdit and the raster layout CADRaster for AutoCAD, and also the the software - InfoOśrodek.
Vertical from Żory has exposed the programming - WK.GIS that helps in administer the water-piping, and also dutch dgDialog Topography – programming that service the geodetic documentation centers and controlling the managment of digital maps. That was the one of not too many applications which is usefull in the generalize fundamental map and create the topographic map. Hanslik Laboratorium has exposed the according to requirements of company OpenGIS system AQUANET, based on the modules ESRI and the databases Oracle, which helps in the exploitation of the water-piping. Besides there were a lot of others applications based on Autodesk MapGuide Padre-System (managing the numeric and names of the streets and real estate) and EMKa-System (to record the communal property)-Aplikom 2001, KANDIS – product of ECOGIS, IKART (to create digital maps) and ORKART (to manage them). The visitors could also see the typical calculation programs. Algores-Soft has propsed GEONET in the version 3.0 and GEONET-UNITRANS version 8.0 that has converte in between the polish systems. More and more strongly are entering the geodetic producers of spread sheets plotters and scanners. Their own stall had: Océ –with the newest copying printing scanning system TCS400, EPCOT Polska from Warsow – with the spread sheets facility Xerox (e.g. ColorGrafX X2), and also DKS from Gdańsk – with the facility of KIP, Contex & Encad. The administration has represented: Biuro Geodety Województwa Mazowieckiego, Centralny Ośrodek Dokumentacji Geodezyjnej i Kartograficznej & Wojewódzki Ośrodek Dokumentacji Geodezyjnej i Kartograficznej in Łódż. Each one of those institutions had in their gallery a lots of the thematic & topographic maps, orthophotomaps and an atlases. Polish educational system was represented by Wydział Geodezji i Gospodarki Przestrzennej Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego in Olsztyn.
