After two-summer break the trades of geodesy and geoinformatics GEA has been returned to Katowice In the exhibition center MTK for three days ( 26-28 september ) has presented 27 firms exposed their offers from the geodetic and geoinformation branch. At the official openning of the VIII GEA Fair has taken participation the vice-president of Katowice Józef Buszman, the Main Geodesist of Country Jerzy Albin, geodesist of silesian province Jacek Kudła and participants of the II silesian forum GIS have arrived numerously, where among them were many foreign visitors. Exhibitors of this year Fair we could divide on the three main categories: the distributors of the geodetic facility, geoinformatics companies and the geodetic administration. Among the first ones traditionally the bigest stalls had Czerski Trade Polska - representative of Switzerland Leica Geosystems and Impexgeo - distributor of geodetic equipment of Nikon and the american Trimble receivers GPS. Also this year Czerski Trade Polska from Warsow has been representing in between others: total stations Leica TPS 400, new levels - digital DNA 03 & DNA 10, and laser Rugby100 & LB 10 and for the first time on the GEA Fair - laser scanner Cyrax 2500. In their offer we could also find the GPS receivers (SR 50)and known to all the distance measurements DISTO. At the stall of Impexgeo from Nieporęt, besides of the known well electronic tachymeters of Nikon we could see a lots off the GPS facility. The sensations has accomplished the receiver - Trimble 5800, which the world wide premiere is announced on the October-Intergeo Fair in Colony. The receiver is integrated with the antena and the batteries in one (under one cover) and also includes Bluetooth function, assurance of the high quality and also is very suitable for the geodetic survey. Geotronics from Cracow has exposed 5603DR Trimble that cost over 80 thousand zloty and the laser scanner Callidus. When we want to talk about the informatics offers we have to point-out to all the stall of Hanslik Laboratorium Oprogramowania from Katowice, where we also could have a cold ....beer. Employing 40 workers the company provides expert systems intergration services, networks. It has accustomed many applications on base of software of firm Oracle and ESRI, among others, in the office city Bielsko-Biała, Chorzów, Katowice and others, like TP S.A. etc. The large size of the aerial photograph were decorating the one of the youngest Fair-exhibitors stall - Dephos from Cracow.Few years ago the young team that came from KPG from Cracow, has successfully engaged with the practical application and the structure of the digital photogrammetry based on their own software Dephos.It's very useful, comfortable and not too expensive software for the geodetic and photogrammetry companies, planning office, the geodetic administration and education. It enables for example: project management, stereodigitalization, orthorectification, creating NMT and dynamic visulization.. The Digital Photogrammetric System - Dephos by Krzysztof Bratuś has got award of the GEA 2002 Fair for the best geoinformatic product. Also We could see the Geobid stall. This producer of the software from Katowice, whose product is actually applied in the geodetic administration. EWMAPA, EWOPIS and OŚRODEK, that We are talking about are not too expensive and commercially available. ESRI Poland, the exclusive distributor of the widespread on the whole world, GIS software produced by american company ESRI, has been presented known and proved software: ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcGIS. TX Net from Bielsko-Biała is even younger than the mentioned above team Dephos from Cracow.It belongs in hundred percent to Techmeks - the computer gigant on the stock market.This company emerged in 2001 year is an answer to the big interest of the geoinformatic market from the part of the great polish capital. PGK Vertical from Żory has been offeriring practically applicated for past few years, the software dg DIALOG Topography by dutch company Grontnij Geogroep.This system for building and managing the projects has been objective created for the administration and geodetic companies. The Marshall Council of Silesia and the Local Center of the Geodetic and Cartography Documentation in Katowice has presented their offer in the genuinely and professionally edited catalogue. We could see the general maps, topographic, hydrographic, sozologic), aerial photographs, orthophotomaps and also the newest products like: geoenvironmental and topographic digital databases. The only one of the college representatives has been the furthest put from the capital of Silesia the Warmińsko-Mazurski University. The Cathedry of Precision Geodesy has been presented the technology of updating and complementing the trace structures of the III class with the GPS utilization and the program estimate accuracy of the digital maps. What can We say about GEA Fair 2002? It looks like the coming back to Katowice and the coherence with the II Silesian GIS Forum has been come out for good for the GEA Fair this year. Over 250 Forum participants, many of silesian geodetic companies, students of the technician schools has been dominated among the visitors.Of course We are way back behind the Intergeo Fair like the polish economy is far away from the german one. We didn't see any of the big polish geodetic company. It seems like that they have nothing to offer and don't want to make business. Is the word "marketing" only in their firms logos?
