GEA`s FAIR were opened this year by the Governor of Lower Silesia Province, Mr Jan Waszkiewicz. 33 exhibitors participated in this events whilst total exhibition space was 650 sq.m. Traditionally, a lot of brand- new devices were presented together with several Fair` s promotions. Along with the Fair, two conferences were found of great reception. Much to Organizer's regret, the number of visitors was lower than in past years. Was it because of the geodesy market in Lower Silesia became discouraged with this formula of contact with new technologies?
GEA Fair has been for a years an ideal opportunity to get familiar with modern facilities and hardware, especially almost all Poland-based and foreign producers who offer to the Polish users were present in Wroc³aw.
For the first time in Fair's history we hosted the company Arinstein Polska based in S³ubice. The company is an representative for German company Aristein Project Germany, collaborating among the others with Ural Factory of Optical&Mechanical Devices in Jekaterinburg in Russia. It`s resulting with the join offer for high precision instruments marked with UOMZ symbol.
The Fair's offer was comprised of wide range of measuring instruments automatic levels, laser levels and total stations. Among which there were traditional optical theodolites (being still in use!) at 1/3 price compared with electronic instrument.
The company Impexgeo from Nieporet, a sole distributor of Nikon `s instrument as well as a general distributor of satellite measuring systems Trimble presented a new series of total station Nikon DTM 501. Enhancement in presented model 521were related to 500 the change included :calculating areas, remote heights, staking out.
First worldwide mirror-less total station was presented on the stand of Impexgeo NPL-350, in addition to the offer laser level firm Spectra Precision were presented.
TPI `s stand was shared with MapTerNet company-producer of TerMap Using own product and mirror-less total station Topcon GPT-2005 they presented the measures with direct result visualization on PC screen.
The GEA Fair are the largest event of this type in Poland. Most prestigious Fair in Europe takes place in Germany; they are INERGEO Fair attracting above 350 exhibitors and dozen thousand of visitors. All worldwide players are present there, including producers of software and leaders in satellite technics producers.The difference between both Fairs is determined by the role of geo-information here and there. It shows how much works it to be done in the marketplace yet.
